Common questions
What does price per watt mean?
It is the total installed price divided by the system's DC size in watts, a way to compare quotes for different sizes. See how to compare quotes per watt.
Are these current prices?
No. The data ends with installs in 2023, and prices are before incentives. Use it as a reference point, not a quote.
Does a lower median price mean a better installer?
No. Price depends on equipment, roof, system size, batteries and local costs, and says nothing about workmanship or service. We do not rank installers.
Why is there no phone number?
The data set does not include contact details. Search for the company by name and check its license with your state's contractor licensing board.
Why is my installer not listed?
We list installers with at least 15 priced, customer-owned home systems from 2019 to 2023 in one of eight states. Others may be missing, reported under another name, or in a state where the data has no installer names or prices.
